ITINERARY

SATURDAY - NOVEMBER 7                      KENNEDY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Depart from a central location en route to KENNEDY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. You will be met upon arrival by a representative of GREAT EXPERIENCES, INC. and assisted with checking in for ALITALIA AIRLINES #609 which is scheduled to depart at 4:35pm. Dinner will be served.

SUNDAY - NOVEMBER 8                            ROME, ITALY

Arrive into ROME at 7:10am. You will be met by a professional tour manager who will be with you throughout your stay in ITALY and escorted to a nearby DE LUXE motorcoach on which transportation will be provided to THE PONTIFICIO MAESTRE PIE FILIPPINI. Following time to get settled you will be taken for lunch in a traditional restaurant and taken on a panoramic sightseeing tour past many of the city’s most important monuments such as THE COLOSSEUM and THE ROMAN FORUM.

MONDAY - NOVEMBER 9                          VATICAN CITY & ROME

Begin the morning in VATICAN CITY where you will experience THE SISTINE CHAPEL and VATICAN MUSEUM concluding with a tour of SAINT PETER’S BASILICA and time for personal reflection. Lunch will be served in a traditional restaurant; afterward you will be taken to experience THE CATACOMBS along the ancient APPIAN WAY and THE BASILICA OF SAINT PAUL OUTSIDE THE WALLS.

TUESDAY - NOVEMBER 10                       TARQUINIA, ROME

Spend the morning in TARQUINIA visiting the site of the birth of SAINT LUCY as well as other places of importance in her life. There will be time to explore the village on your own and luncheon will be served in a restaurant in TARQUINIA. Return to ROME in the afternoon where you will be taken to experience THE CHURCH OF SAINT PETER IN CHAINS.

WEDNESDAY - NOVEMBER 11                VATICAN CITY, ROME

Attend the PAPAL AUDIENCE in the morning. Luncheon will be served in a traditional restaurant followed with sightseeing to include SANTA SCALA and THE BASILICA OF SAINT JOHN IN LATERAN for vespers.

THURSDAY - NOVEMBER 12                   MONTEFIASCONE, BOLSENA, ROME

Begin today in MONTEFIASCONE to visit THE CATHEDRAL and sites of importance in the life of SAINT LUCY. Then you will be driven to nearby BOLSENA to visit sites relating to SAINT LUCY and to have lunch in a restaurant overlooking the lake. Stop in ORVIETO en route to ROME where a tour will include the CATHEDRAL containing the host and corporal relating to the EUCHARISTIC MIRACLE which occurred in 1263.

FRIDAY - NOVEMBER 13                          ROME

Begin today at THE BASILICA OF SAINT MARY MAJOR. After your visit you will be taken on a walking tour to include a stop for lunch as well as visiting THE SPANISH STEPS, THE FOUNTAIN OF TREVI, THE PANTHEON, THE CHURCH OF JESU and THE PIAZZA NAVONA.

SATURDAY - NOVEMBER 14                    ROME

Today provides you with the opportunity to experience ROME on your own. A farewell Mass will be celebrated followed with dinner in a typical restaurant.

SUNDAY - NOVEMBER 15                         ROME, KENNEDY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Transportation will be provided to the airport to check in for ALITALIA AIRLINES #608 which will depart at 10:35am and arrive into KENNEDY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT at 2:25pm. Collect your luggage and proceed through CUSTOMS to the waiting area where you will be met by a motorcoach driver who will provide transportation to your point of departure.

.Mass will be celebrated daily; the sites will be noted on the final itinerary.

OPTIONAL EXTENSION

SUNDAY - NOVEMBER 15                         ROME, SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO

Depart from ROME by motorcoach en route to SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO where you will check into THE HOTEL CENTRO DI SPIRITUALITA. There will be time to experience the village on your own before dining in the hotel.

MONDAY - NOVEMBER 16                       SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO

Spend today experiencing sites of importance in the life of SAINT PIO. Attend MASS in SANTA MARIA DELLE GRAZIE CHURCH, visit with priests who knew him personally, view the CRUCIFIX where he received THE STIGMATA as well as the room where he lives, the confessional where he spent countless hours hearing confessions and providing spiritual direction, and visiting his tomb. In the afternoon you will be taken to visit SAINT MICHAEL’S CAVE. Dine in your hotel.

TUESDAY - NOVEMBER 17                       SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO, ROME

Spend the morning revisiting sites in SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO. In the early afternoon depart for ROME where upon arrival you will check into THE PONTIFICIO INSTITUTO MAESTRE. Dinner will be served in a local restaurant.

WEDNESDAY - NOVEMBER 18                ROME, KENNEDY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Transportation will be provided to the airport to check in for your flight to home. ALITALIA AIRLINES #608 is scheduled to depart at 10:35am and arrive into KENNEDY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT at 2:25pm. Collect your luggage and proceed through CUSTOMS to the waiting area where you will be met by the motorcoach driver who will provide transportation to your point of departure.
